Monday Afternoon: Digital Storytelling
Monday's topic, Digital Storytelling, is the result of the combination of traditional modes of storytelling with digital technologies that allow for the seamless integration of images, sound, and video into the narrative. While it has traditionally been associated with cinema-like media, there are many other forms that it can take, ranging from Spartan simplicity to rich interactivity. Ruben will help us discover how Digital Storytelling projects are created and discuss the educational challenges they address. Tuesday Morning: Educational Gaming
Videogames have come a long way since Pong invited players to bat a dot of light between two lines on a screen. Computers and game consoles can simulate the workings of a thriving city, create mythical vistas for virtual explorers, or produce puzzles of complexity rivaling the toughest mathematical challenges. Ruben will lead a discussion on how these games can be used in an educational setting, and the new possibilities they may open up for learners.

Extended workshops are being offered on using NoteTaker, Net Logo and Digital Storytelling to explore the integration of technology in teaching and learning. Participants are expected to begin developing teaching/learning integration for their classrooms.
