Developing multimedia projects requires skill not only in crafting how all of the media elements will be combined to communicate a message but also in designing the content and message of the presentation. Various forms of scaffolding can be used to guide students through the process of creating multimedia projects that effectively communicate an idea or message. This session introduces the use of story maps as a scaffolding tool to design the content of a multimedia project. In addition, participants will learn how to use and teach their students to use mPower5™ to create multimedia presentations.
Module Objectives
• Learners will understand the benefits of using story maps as a scaffolding tool for multimedia projects.
• Learners will determine how story maps can be used to support the development of multimedia presentations for a variety of presentation formats.
• Learners will become comfortable designing mPower5 presentations and will be able to teach the software to students.
• Learners will create a multimedia project using mPower5 that will be implemented in their classrooms.
